  Good day! Tour photos

Veneroso Tours invites you to savor the essence of Italy. An 18th century villa is our home base, with all the amenities for a weeklong stay. From the villa radiates daily cycle tours, each a unique, self-guided adventure in Tuscany. You’ll have the opportunity to explore the region’s rich past and indulge in the warmth of the present as you meet, greet and dine with our Tuscan friends.

Our base is in the town of Ghizzano, located halfway between Pisa and Florence.  We stay in the Il Monte-Santa Guilia villa on the Venerosi-Pesciolini estate, surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and the Pisian hills.  You'll feel “at home” as you settle in to the warmth and beauty of your villa with surrounding gardens and pool.

Guests customize each day to suit their wants and needs. Choose from a daily menu of cycling, other modes of transportation, or spending a relaxing day “at home.” Whatever choice you make, you’ll find yourself absorbed in a rich and unique cultural setting that warrants pause and exploration.

Routes include some of the region’s well known medieval towns like Volterra, Lucca, Monteriggionni, San Gimignano as well as many lesser known hamlets like Peccioli, Montecatini, San Miniato, and Palaia. One day’s tour includes a van transport from our villa to the ferry headed to the Island of Elba where you’ll spend the day on bike or moped exploring this fantastic island.

The end of each day’s venture brings us together at our villa for time to relax poolside or to stroll to the nearby town of Ghizzano.  Most evenings we transport you to some of the region’s best restaurants – especially those owned and operated by our friends - to satisfy your hunger and to create a memorable meal.  Other evenings we “stay home” to enjoy dinner in our beautiful poolside garden overlooking the Pisian hills.

One very special evening includes a tour of the Venerosi-Pesciolini family estate, including their fantastic wine cellar (where Veneroso wine is made). We’ll be invited to taste the wonderful wines and olive oil produced on the estate as we hear the history of the family business that’s been in place since the 1300s.

Join us for a memorable 7 days where you’ll have the opportunity to begin a relationship with a few of the local people and their Italian countryside, towns, culture, and cuisine. And for the cyclist, it can be added to some of the best rides of your life!
